Term | Meaning |
AK, AK47 | Usually the Armored Knight. Sometimes can refer to the Axe Knight. Both have the initials "AK" |
Big C | Charlock Castle. The walls form a C, with the Rainbow Drop to be placed in the moat at the opening of the C. |
Big Stick | Erdrick's Sword, the strongest melee weapon in the game. Occasionaly the Bamboo Pole, the weakest weapon other than your fists. |
Bonk | To run into impassible terrian such as rivers, walls, and NPCs. The game makes a "bonk" sound when this happens. |
Bonus Cave | The cave that contains the Stones of Sunlight in the base game. It contains an old man with a free chest in it. |
Coordinates | Given by the old man behind the barrier tiles in Cantlin, if there is an item there, he will tell you how far away from Tantagel Castle it is. |
Count | To count the tiles out for the overworld Search Tile without using Gwaelin's Love. See also: Gwaelin's Love, Reverse Count |
Death Warp | To intentionally take a death to go back to Tantagel Castle. |
Deep Grave | The two key locked chests below the top of the Grave of Garinham |
Dive, The Dive | 1. (The Dive) To go into Charlock Castle to attempt to defeat the Dragonlord. 2. To go into any location, usually a dungeon, eg. I dived Mountain for Erdrick's Sword |
Double | To attack the Dragonlord twice in a row without healing in the final fight. See also Manufactured Double |
French Vanilla | An item that's in the same area, but not the exact same spot. For example, having the Silver Harp in the top three of Grave instead of the final chest. See also: Vanilla |
Fun Police | The Red Dragon. Hardest enemy to run from, when they pull you over, the fun stops. |
Gold Grind | To take a chest containing gold multiple times. See here for various methods |
GPS | Gwaelin's Love, aka the Gwaelin Positioning System (GPS). Tells you your position relative to Tantagel Castle |
Healwalking | 1. The one hp per step given by Erdrick's Armor, or one hp per four steps by the Magic Armor 2. To gain health by using the healwalking power. |
Jerk Cave | The cave where you trade your items in for the Stones of Sunlight. So called because he's a jerk to you if you talk to him without Erdrick's Token. |
Judge's Table | The chest in Charlock Castle that normally contains Erdrick's Sword. It's out of the way from the Dragonlord, and is usually the last location checked in Charlock, if needed. |
Key Locked | Any item locked behind a door requiring a key. This technically includes the item in Rimuldar, even though keys are purchasable in Rimuldar |
Manufactured Double | To attack the Dragonlord twice in a row without healing despite HP being low enough to risk death. See also Double |
Miniboss | The forced fight just before the Dragonlord. See: Spike Tile. |
Reverse Count | To count the tiles out for the search spot, taking advantage of the fact that the Dragon Warrior map is 120x120. If you got coordinates of 119,119, you'd know the search item is in the exact opposite corner from Tantagel. (0,0 is a valid location for the search item) |
Search Tile | A tile in Kol, Hauksness or on the overworld that can contain an item. In vanilla, these contain the Fairy Flute, Erdrick's Armor and Erdrick's Token respectively. |
Sparko Tile, Sparkover Tile | Named for the streamer Sparkover, these are bridges leading to one tile areas on the map |
Spike Tile | A tile that contains a forced fight. One is in Hauksness guarding the possible item there, one is in the Swamp Cave guarding Princess Gwaelin, one is just before the Dragonlord. |
Treasury | The key locked chests in either Tantagel Castle or Charlock Castle |
Vanilla | 1. The base game of Dragon Warrior. 2.An item that is found in the same place it normally is in the base game. Often accompined by the expression "Is this even randomized?" |
Wombo Combo | An enemy with both SLEEP and Dragonlord 2 breath. Junior Wombo, Diet Wombo: SLEEP and HURTMORE or HURT |
Zone | An area containing a set group of monsters. There are several zones on the overworld, as well as the various caves and Charlock itself. |
